About Laredo

Laredo, Texas, was founded in 1755 and is located on the north bank of the historical Rio Grande. It is the only city to operate international bridges with two Mexican states. The city maintains three border crossings with the Mexican State of Tamaulipas at Nuevo Laredo, and one with the Mexican State of Nuevo León at Colombia. A fifth bridge is being planned along the Tamualipas border. Laredo is the principal U.S. port of entry into Mexico, located on the Pan American Highway that stretches from Canada into Central and South America.

Laredo is a very hospitable city with a mix of Spanish colonial influence, Mexican spice, and myriad recreational, sports and cultural activities. Whether you're a hunter, birding enthusiast, sports fanatic or history buff, this 250-year old city offers something for everyone, from world class events at Laredo Entertainment Center to mariachi music in Plaza San Agustin, right next door to La Posada Hotel. What's more, most all activities are located just five to 15 minutes driving time from La Posada.
