About Laredo
Laredo, Texas, was founded in 1755 and is located on the north bank of the historical Rio Grande. It is the only city to operate international bridges with two Mexican states. The city maintains three border crossings with the Mexican State of Tamaulipas at Nuevo Laredo, and one with the Mexican State of Nuevo León at Colombia. A fifth bridge is being planned along the Tamualipas border. Laredo is the principal U.S. port of entry into Mexico, located on the Pan American Highway that stretches from Canada into Central and South America.
