At La Posada Hotel
La Posada is one of the few hotels in the U.S. to have historic museums built-in right on the property.
- San Agustin Convent – This historic structure houses Washington's Birthday Celebration Museum, which honors Laredo's century old tradition of the Washington Birthday Celebration which was added to the hotel in 2000. It offers an extensive collection of ornate 100-pound gowns worn by participants in the Martha Washington pageant, as well as the long coats and knee pants worn by George Washington's generation.
- Republic of the Rio Grande Museum – Located in an 1830s-vintage structure that once served as the capital of the short-lived Republic of the Rio Grande, the museum features pictures, books, furniture and artifacts from 19th Century Laredo. Guided tours offered year-round.
