Shopping in Laredo

Laredo offers a virtual treasure trove for shoppers. From beautiful Mexican imports to high-end designer fashions, it's all here... and much within walking distance of La Posada Hotel.

Shoppers can enjoy four decidedly different and exciting shopping experiences:

Downtown Shopping District
What Harwin Street is to Houston, the downtown shopping district is to Laredo. With its rich history and ethnic flavor, the downtown Laredo business district is the place to discover great shopping and bargains. The over 40 stores within walking distance of the hotel offer home décor and furnishings; high fashion apparel, shoes and accessories; perfume; jewelry, sterling silver, gold and semi-precious stones; silk floral arrangements of exceptionally high quality; gifts and Mexican imports. For designer apparel, try New Yorker's Apparel.

San Bernardo Avenue
If you're looking for unique Mexican imports, there are dozens of shops along Laredo's San Bernardo Avenue that offer the best in Mexican crafts, pottery and ironwork. The famous street features 40-blocks of countless import vendors with distinctive products handmade in Mexico by artisans and master craftsmen. Art by God is a guest favorite that sells all-natural Mexican accessories.

Mall Del Norte Shopping
Located off Interstate 35 between Mann and Hillside Roads in the center of the city, Mall del Norte is a shopping destination in itself. With more than 150 stores, it is especially noted for Joe Brand, the fine family owned department store with Texas designer fashions, and for Deutch's Jewelers, which offers Texas' finest baubles. Shopping in Mexico
For true Mexican flavor, there are a variety of shops and stores on the Mexican side of the border that sell beautiful linen, delicate laces, hand embroidery, sterling silver, home furnishings and tabletop treasures direct from artisans in Mexico. And after a day of shopping, the Cadillac Bar is a must for homemade marguerites, broiled quail, snapper and other seafood. Nearby at the Mexican Market, bargain with the locals who sell a variety of items from small booths including paintings, jewelry, shoes, hats and linens.
